Policies
NMAO has the right to deny, suspend, or revoke any accreditation if it is determined that the candidate:
- Provided inaccurate or falsified information on their accreditation application.
- Engaged in any inappropriate conduct.
- Violated NMAO Code of Ethics.
- Misrepresented or misused his or her accreditation status in any way.
- Committed a substantiated act of gross negligence or willful misconduct.
- Committed a crime connected to his or her accreditation.
If deemed appropriate by NMAO, a candidate whose accreditation has been denied, suspended, or revoked may not be eligible to schedule any further accreditation review for at least 12 months from the date the certification was denied, suspended, or revoked.
In some cases, a candidate may be completely prohibited from further NMAO accreditation.

Complaints regarding an applicant, candidate, or accreditation holder must be submitted in writing to NMAO.
