Cancellation & Refund Policy
This policy explains how to cancel your NMAO accreditation enrollment and when you are eligible for a refund. It applies to the accreditation fee ($249 for a two‑year term) and to any additional personnel background screening ($49 per additional person).
Full‑refund window
You may cancel your accreditation enrollment and receive a full refund within 14 days of purchase, provided that both of the following are still true:
- your background screening has not yet been initiated with our screening partner; and
- your accreditation has not yet been approved.
After screening begins or accreditation is approved
Background screening is performed by an independent, third‑party consumer reporting agency, and those costs are incurred as soon as screening begins. For that reason, the accreditation fee (and any screening add‑on fees) become non‑refundable once your screening has been initiated or your accreditation has been approved, including after the 14‑day window.
How to cancel
To cancel, email support@nmao.us or call 516‑303‑6972 with your school name and the email used at purchase. We will confirm your cancellation in writing and, if you are within the refund window, process any eligible refund to your original payment method within 5–10 business days.
Renewals
Accreditation is a two‑year credential and renews at the end of each term. You may cancel a renewal at any time before the renewal date to avoid the next charge, by contacting us at the address above. A term that has already begun is non‑refundable once approved.
Limited‑time pricing
The introductory accreditation price of $249 (regularly $399) is available through March 1, 2027. Pricing after that date may differ.
