What is the process to apply for accreditation?
Application for NMAO accreditation involves self-evaluation of your program with the NMAO standards, submission of an application, which includes narrative explanations and evidence of your program’s compliance with the standards.
How long will it take to receive a response from the NMAO board?
The Accreditation Board will meet approximately 1 month after each application is received to discuss findings from their thorough review. Following completion of the review process, the board will render a decision. The entire process will take approximately 2 months, after which formal notification will be sent to you.
How long is accreditation granted, and what are the steps to maintain it?
Accreditation is granted for 1 year.
A bi-annual report will be required for all accredited martial arts schools.
This report will provide statistics and any updates for the program from the previous year, and the report will be reviewed to ensure continued compliance with the NMAO standards as changes are implemented.
